HERE ARE OUR

Frequently Asked Questions

We want to make sure that you are in the know when it comes to your child's digital education. Below are listed the answers to questions we are most frequently asked by parents.

If you can't find the answer here, please email us at info@easy4u.school giving your name and the name of your school and we'll get back to you asap.

Why have you chosen this particular device and software?

After extensive research and testing of various products, Class Technology Solutions has developed a portfolio of laptops and tablets that we feel meet the various needs and challenges of an education environment. Education grade laptops have a much more rugged outer casing and also have reinforced hinges and ports. Some also have other features specific to the needs of an education environment. Your school has chosen a device from this range based on the specific educational needs of your child and the school.

When do the payments start?

If you are paying over 12-48 months, the deposit is taken when the device is ordered and the first rental payment will be collected a month after delivery. If you pay one upfront payment then this will be taken when you order the device.

How do I connect to the internet in my home?

Your device can be used as a wireless device for internet connectivity via WiFi and also has an ethernet port that can be wired directly into a suitable network.

What if I don’t have internet access at home?

If you don’t have internet access at home then please get in touch with the school and let them know that you need support with this. There are Department for Education initiatives that we may be able to use to support you.

Who owns the laptop during the payment period?

If you purchase the device outright then you are the owner. If you choose to pay over 12-48 months then Class Technology Solutions will still own the device until the end of the payment period, after which ownership will be transferred to you at no additional cost.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

If you are renting the device with payments over a 12-48 month period, we need a deposit as surety against the device we are renting to you.  At the end of the rental period, you can either keep the laptop and Class Technology Solutions will keep the deposit, or you can return the laptop and Class Technology Solutions will return the deposit. A deposit is only paid in cases of rental (not if you purchase outright).

What happens if I can no longer afford to make payments?

You must return the device to the school. You will not own the device until the final payment is made.

How many devices can I order?

One per student.

What happens if the device is lost, stolen or damaged?

Damages or faults can be logged via the Easy4U helpdesk. Pupils will then hand their device into the school to be repaired and immediately receive a temporary replacement from the school.

For any insurance claims, you must log into the Easy4U portal and complete a claims form. Once completed and submitted, a replacement device will be available at the school.

Claims are limited to 3 instances during the contract period and there is an excess of £50 for each incident claimed.

Note that the warranty and insurance is valid for the duration specified during purchasing stage.

My child has their own laptop or notebook. Are they able to use that in school?

You would need to discuss this with your school. There are good educational and pedagogical reasons why all students having the same device is the optimal situation.

What technical support is available?

As a part of the Easy4U scheme offered by Class Technology Solutions, you have access to a support portal where you can raise tickets for both hardware and software support. Our friendly team work standard business hours and will be happy to help.

Does the laptop come with Anti-virus?

Yes.

How accessible is the device?

This depends upon the device type that the school have chosen and the software they have asked to be installed however, most modern devices and education software have a broad range of accessibility features.

What happens if my child leaves the school?

If your son/daughter leaves the school part way through the rental period you need to return the device to us and the monthly rental payments will stop.

If there are no further rental charges to pay you can keep the device, we will reset it to factory settings, and we will retain your deposit, or you can give the device back to the school and your deposit will be returned.
